This year it took place
on two separate days to allow the
younger students of The Garden
International School to take a part in
the activities with our younger
children. The teachers said that their
young students have been looking forward
to the occasion for some time.
Our children very much
enjoyed the chance of sharing the
activities with the GIS students and
naturally receiving the many useful
gifts that the students of the GIS had
provided for them.
As always great thanks
Mrs. Martina Morris and all the students
involved in arranging such a wonderful
occasion for our children.
From Mrs. Martina Morris.
The IB1 students were
involved in coordinating both events.
After a visit to the
centre the students decided how they
would like to run the activity, they
then consulted with the heads of year
and it was decided that it would be a
great idea to split the event.
Maria Pozharetskaya Khun
Benja and Martine again visited the
centre to discuss how we could better
meet the needs of the centre while still
giving to the children. Back at school
student profiles were distributed to
classes that had students of a similar
This year we decided to
seek advise and try to meet the needs of
the students at the Camillian Centre by
providing them with there own uniforms
for school, this meant the gifts were
still for the students and hopefully
alleviated the financial burden on the
Camillian Centre to provide uniforms.
It was also decided to
involve all our community and make a
rice mountain for the centre, Students
Rain, Sofia Nan and Jiaxin were designed
posters and this was published in News
letters and emailed to parents. There
was a collection point in Ban Chang at
Steves Delli and at school.
The event was split into
two days one with a secondary focus and
the other a primary focus.
During the secondary
event the IB1 students Rohit and Robert
organised a talent show, they
auditioned, rehearsed and sorted all
technical aspects for the afternoon.
This was entirely run by them, Acts from
across the school participated in this
Sofia, Robert and Rohit all in IB1,
Maria, Da Seul and Anna, Gee Gee and
Seren all Year 8. The Thai MC for the
event was Louis.
Just before the visit the
IB1 students followed up and made sure
all students that had sizes for a
uniform had one this meant shopping for
uniforms at TESCO, the money raised at
Pizza day funded any additional
purchases of school uniforms.
The primary visit
involved the IB students meeting and
escorting the students to the foundation
and primary area. They were in lessons
during this activity and so did not
remain with the students during there
visit. The activities for primary were
I really hope they
enjoyed the visit.
