The day
was warm and overcast which was a
pleasant change from the weather over
the past week which has been typical
rainy season weather for this part of
Thailand. Over 15 motorcycles started
out from Pattaya Ducati and a further 8
started from Harley Davidson of Pattaya
at something just after 2pm, for the
short ride too the Camillian Center in
Rayong province which is approximately
45KL from Pattaya. More riders joined us
at the center. There were more than 60
bikes arrived on the day. Thankfully the
ride was uneventful and a somewhat
slower pace was maintained because this
route was down Suckhumvit and passed
Buddha Mountain rather than the 36
highway of previous years.
At the
center all the children where waiting at
the entrance of the center for all the
bikes to arrive with great cheers from
all of them as the bikes entered the
center. Once the bikes had been parked
up at the back of the center, all the
thank you were said in both Thai and
English. Some of our smaller children
entertained the riders by giving a short
dance performance. This year we where
joined by Randy, Nat and friends all the
way form Bangkok.
Then came
the children’s favorite part with a
short blast up the side Soi and back on
the very powerful motorcycles. The
collection box was also pasted around
and a total of over 17,000THB was
collected from the riders on the day.
Great thanks also to Lucky Lucky or Tik
who cajoled many of her friends to turn
up for the ride. |
