of the very large turn out last year at
over 2,000 entrees it was decided that
this years event would be held at the
Thai school and Temple 500 meters
further down the road.
a very large playing field alongside the
Temple and in front of the school.
Unfortunately we are in the middle of
the wet season and the ground became
rather muddy in places. The early
morning was damp with showers starting
around 4:30am, and light rain falling
from 5:00am, through most of the event
which started at 6:00am,.
very early hours on Sunday all the
volunteers where very hard at work,
preparing the start gate, making
breakfast for over 3,000 people and
signing the runners in. All in all the
logistics of such an event is mind
boggling and largely carried out very
efficiently by our Thai PR staff.
it was somewhat miserable standing
around waiting for the start I am sure
the runners were very grateful for the
rain when they got going. Last year the
leaders were very close, the first ten
being within a 100 meters of each other
all the way around the race. This year
the front runner and winner was way out
in the lead finishing perhaps a
kilometre ahead of the second place man.
A magnificent run by Number 30 258,
unfortunately I can not give you his
name, as I have made extensive inquires
of our Thai PR staff and they tell me
that they do not know it.
over 3,000 people entered the event and
the profits for the event that will go
entirely to The Camillian Social Center
Rayong should come to something in
excess of 1,500,000 Thai Baht.
All of us
at The Camillian Social Center Rayong
thank all the volunteers very much for
their hard work in making this event a
