A group headed by Florence has made it
every year (baring one because of Thai
political upheaval) for many years.
This year they were picked up at the
Airport by one of our drivers and taken
to the hotel. Where I was waiting for
them with a piece of extremely vital
equipment so that it was there ready for
them the following morning, that being
the all important kettle for the morning
The next day it was straight off to work
at our Garden of Eden farm site to add
water drainage ditches for the water
retention tanks that they have been
working on for the past two years. We
are in the monsoon now this year it has
arrived very early. However this only
stopped their work for a short while
during their stay.
The chain gangs were soon in place
feeding the concrete mixer with the raw
materials, sand, rock chippings and
cement. While at the other end, bucket
after bucket of concrete made its way to
build the walls and floor of the ditch.
In the heat and humidity at this time,
this work is very exhausting.
On the last evening of their visit they
spent time over their evening meal with
all the children at our main center. The
children very much enjoyed meeting them
all in our outdoor pavilion.
